• A new item goes up for auction on the 1st business day of the month and all bidding ends on the last day of the month. Bids submitted after midnight on the last day of the month will not be accepted.
• Only those with a winning bid will be contacted.
• The person with the highest bid amount will be considered the winner.
• In the event of a tie, the item will be relisted in the future and there will be no declared winner.
• The person with the winning bid will be asked to provide payment in the form of a cheque, money order or cash payment. We do not have the ability to accept online banking payments or credit card / pay pal payments at this time.
• In the event the item is paid for with a cheque, the item will not be released to the winner until the cheque is cleared from the bank.
• Victim Services staff and or volunteers are not responsible for delivering any of the items up for auction. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to make arrangements to pick up the item or to pay to have it shipped to an address they provide.
• Any issues with services or items purchased through our online auction are between the product / service provider and the purchaser. Victim Services staff will not mediate or intervene should an issue arise.
• Individuals with a winning bid can change their mind and refuse to purchase the item when they are contacted by Victim Services staff. Should the individual turn down the opportunity to purchase the item at the agreed upon amount the item will be offered to the next closest bid. If you have not responded to Victim Services within 14 days of being contacted with the winning notification the item will go to the next highest bidder.
• Victim Services staff will not barter, trade or negotiate the bid amount with the purchaser.
• Purchased items may be returned after 7 calendar days if they are still in brand new condition. In the event the item or service has not been used, all money paid to Victim Services for the item will be returned to the purchaser. Money paid for shipping or pickup of the item to another party will not be reimbursed by Victim Services.
